Asset Automation in Smart IT
Asset Automation has been around for a few versions in Smart IT, so I wanted to give a run-through of it. (One note: this is available in the Progressive View of the Asset Management console; if you have not moved to Progressive Views, you will not have access to this feature. And I don’t think it was available in versions before 25.x.)
It’s a pretty simple concept – take some of the routine tasks in Asset Management and set up jobs to automate them.
Asset automation enables you to create rules that automate the following repetitive tasks:
- Establishing people relationships
- Setting locations
- Setting contracts
- Assigning attribute values to assets.
These rules apply to multiple assets, reducing the number of rules needed for multiple-asset actions.
