WASHINGTON, DC – AUGUST 21, 2013 – RightStar Systems hosted its Metro DC Remedy User Group last week at the Library of Congress in the James Madison Building. Dining Room A on the Sixth Floor was at capacity. BMC Remedy users representing 30 different government, commercial, and higher education organizations were present for a busy morning of learning and discussion.
First up was Karl Miller, Principal Product Manager at BMC for the Remedy Platform. He highlighted the “best of” Remedy 8 and walked us through the roadmap, providing a sneak peek into Remedy’s exciting future.
Roger East of RightStar followed Karl with a quick tour of BMC’s new self-service app, MyIT, and the cloud-based service desk, Remedyforce.
Following a short break, Desi DosSantos of xMatters stepped up to the plate. Traveling from California to attend RightStar’s RUG, he demonstrated their cutting-edge automated alerting and notification technology that virtually takes the element of human error out of the equation and makes communication instant and highly targeted.
The final speaker of the morning was George Payne, one of RightStar’s resident Remedy experts. Providing some valuable tips and techniques around Task Management, George gave us some real-world examples to drive his point home.
RightStar treated all to a delicious lunch catered by IL Creations as the meeting concluded.
Describing the Metro DC RUG experience, Joanne Boucher, Deputy Program Manager for DSS ITSS, said this: “It was a great event to actually meet the expert engineering staff of RightStar instead of only carrying on telephonic and email interactions. One presentation was as if they read our minds and knew the issues we were having. RightStar’s RUG is an excellent gathering. I highly recommend it.”
