RightStar hosts the 4th Annual Metro DC Remedy User Meeting

On Thursday, August 5, 2015, RightStar hosted the 4th Annual Metro DC Remedy User Meeting. It was held at the GSA building auditorium in Washington, DC. Despite a major transportation incident, a train derailment at the Smithsonian stop, that kept some registrants from coming, there was a healthy crowd in attendance. Dick Stark, RightStar’s President, kicked things off with an overview of the Remedyforce presentation he plans to make at BMC Engage in September. Bill Reese of BMC followed Dick with an excellent presentation on the new Remedy 9 ITSM solution and the Remedy Roadmap. Dick and Mark Lev of RightStar did an “Ask the Remedy Expert” interview-style discussion that gave the audience a technical person’s perspective on Remedy 9. Finally, Roger East presented a segment on Remedy Integrations featuring RightStar’s ScanStar and PKISSO solutions. The event was followed up with lunch catered by Au Bon Pain.

Service Desk Express (SDE) Isn’t Going Away

HOUSTON, March 16, 2015 — Since the announcement of the End of Life of SDE, the SDE customer community has continually expressed a desire to have an ongoing level of support for SDE. BMC has heard your concerns and have decided to extend the Limited Support life of SDE.

What does this mean for the SDE customer?

  • Service Desk Express isn’t going away at this time. BMC is committed to providing support and updates for SDE until such time that there is insufficient demand from the SDE community.
  •  You can add capacity if needed. You may continue to renew support and purchase additional capacity as needed.
  •  BMC will issue hot fixes. Please review BMC’s Product Support Policy for details.
  •  You can still migrate to other BMC products. This announcement does not impact any existing migration offers to FootPrints or Remedyforce that BMC has made available.

Alf’s Zoo Features Dick Stark, RightStar’s President and CEO

BMC Software’s Alf Abuhajleh, Principal Solutions Marketing Manager, invited Dick Stark, RightStar’s President and CEO, to join him for a recent episode of “Alf’s Zoo.” Dick and Alf discussed the pros and cons of cloud-based ITSM vs. on-premise. Instead of worrying about the delivery mechanism, Dick says that the focus should be on getting the “Ferrari out of the garage” and optimizing the value that IT management software brings to the business.
